Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026Back Home Bakery LLC (“we”, “us”) is a cottage bakery in Fort Myers / Gateway, FL. This page explains what we collect when you use backhomebakeryco.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number, when you place an order, send a custom request or make an account.
- What you order, the pickup day you pick, and the messages you send us about your order.
- If you call us: your phone number, what you say on the call, and any order you place by phone.
- Your birthday, only if you choose to give it.
- If you enter one of our giveaways: your name, email and phone number, and the name, workplace and reason you gave for anyone you nominate.
- What’s in your order bag, once you’re signed in or have typed your email at checkout, so we can see orders that were started but not sent.
- Which pages of our website are opened and which buttons are tapped, counted with a random number your browser keeps. It isn’t your name or email, and we don’t use cookies for it.
How we use it
- To confirm and fill your orders, and to contact you about them.
- To send the order emails and texts you asked for.
- To run our giveaways: to draw the winners at random and reach them.
- To send our news and specials by email, only if you said yes. Every one has a link to stop them. If you said yes, that can include a birthday treat and a reminder about treats left in your bag, sometimes with a discount code.
- To see which parts of our website people use, so we can make it better.
Text messages
If you check “Text me updates about my orders”, we text the phone number on your account about your orders: when we get one, when it’s confirmed, when it’s ready for pickup, and when we reply to you. That’s about 2–5 texts per order. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not sell, rent or share your phone number or your agreement to receive texts with anyone else for their marketing or promotions. Mobile information and text opt-in information are never shared with third parties or affiliates. The only exception is the company that delivers our texts for us, Twilio, which uses them only to send our texts.
Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help. You can also turn texts off in My Orders, under Account settings.
Phone calls
When you call the bakery, your call may be answered by our automated phone assistant, Tiffany, provided by Upfirst. It uses artificial intelligence to understand what you say, answer questions about our menu, and take down an order. The call may be recorded and transcribed so we can fill your order and follow up. Your phone number, what you say on the call and any order you place are shared with Upfirst only to provide this service to us. An order taken by phone is held until you finish it on our website.
If you’d rather not talk to the assistant, email us at [email protected] or order on our website.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share what’s needed with the services that run our business for us: the database that stores our orders (Supabase), our email (Microsoft 365), Twilio for texts, Upfirst for our phone assistant, and Square if you pay online. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
Payments
We never see or keep your card number. When you pay online, Square handles your card.
On your device
Your browser remembers your order bag, the orders you’ve placed, and the random number used to count visits, so they’re there when you come back. Clearing your browser’s data removes them from that device.
Your choices
- Change your name, email or phone, or turn emails and texts off, in My Orders under Account settings.
- Ask us to delete your account and information by emailing us. We may keep order records we must keep by law.
Children
Our website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
